  1. Thanks for posting this, Gadfly.
It should be a fun party with family and friends. Jack is doing a play list so send him a request through eg1st.org if you have something you would like to hear.
It is always fun to work with the Elks who do a fine job.

  2. Geez, it's great to sell out but don't run out of food this time! EG 1st candidates found out at the chicken bbq just how popular they really are! We'll be there.

  3. Reservations are important part of getting the food count right. All are welcome but it would helpful if folks mailed their reservation to PO Box 91, or called 479-4435 to have tickets held at the door. We will also have some walk-in tickets at the door. Thanks for the reminder on providing for all of our friends, 12:49PM.

  4. Eileen, I've been busy with a new grand baby. Bruce and I are looking forward to attending. I believe Eg1st has an awesome slate of candidates. We need a town board consisting of smart, trustworthy, INDEPENDANT thinkers, who are well able to get the job done. You are all winners in my book.

  5. KUDOS!!! CP Dimartino & CP Matters- I urge all to read.

  6. Just read the Matters/DiMartino article in the Advertiser. It isn't every day that we see this kind of public admission and it's refreshing. Keith Langley missed a golden opportunity to work with two board members who would have helped him not only to make better decisions but to keep his job come January. Quite frankly, he doesn't seem receptive to help from any one, no matter how many mistakes he keeps making. The article said he "considers, at every turn, the political cost to himself of even the most basic decisions in town hall" and that he has been "stealth about withholding information." This must have precipitated the parting of the ways. Shame.

  7. GREAT fundraiser! Lots of residents engaged and poised to defeat the banal, rank, corrupted 2 parties in East Greenbush.

  8. We want to thank everyone who came out for the East Greenbush First fundraiser last night. The turnout exceeded our wildest expectations and the night was a huge success. It was very humbling to receive that much support from so many good people. We had a great time. If last night was any indicator, Tina, Tom and I are on our way!!!

  9. Who knew a political fundraiser could be so fun and exciting? What an amazing turnout and great discussion with great people. I am proud to fully support EG1st!

  10. All three of our candidaters did a fabulous job with their remarks and made us proud. The real superstars are the community members who were kind enough to give the East Greenbush First candidates financial and moral support in the fight for fair government in East Greenbush.

Another big thank you to the Elks who helped make our event a success.

  12. Welcome back! Looks like Mr. Langley might be gone as well. Many people are refusing to sign his petitions.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Gadfly, it's not until you're gone that we realize the service you provide to the town. Welcome back!

    ReplyDelete
  14. What is the reason for these "special" meetings anyway? Is it more poor planning? They just couldn't have it ready for the June meeting? What's the urgency? Why can't it wait for the July meeting? For me, it always come down to what are they trying to pull now?
    NO LANGLEY 2015!

  15. If you do not get a republican or democratic nomination for party line for this falls election..it is virtually impossible to win a general election...i believe all three candidates would do exceptional jobs..3rd party lines do not win elections in this town..plain and simple..if you are trying to win awareness you probably will recieve it..good for you..you will not win without dem/rep. Nomination....plus im gonna vote for dave vanwormer supervisor..a honest man

  17. This constant "third parties can't win" is an old school mentality. First, it is not impossible for a third party to win - statistically it has not happened often. Second, times have changed both on the larger scale and locally. The town has awoken and people are fed up. I find it interesting the constant commenting that if EG1st wants to win they should get on the D or R line and that they are decent candidates. If they should win, then it shouldn't matter if they have a D or R after their name. If you only vote for people solely based on what party they check off, you are part of the problem. People need to do their homework and vote on the candidates for what they stand for, not for what party they pretend to represent.

    ReplyDelete
  18. The fact is that it was the mucky-muck insider wheeler-dealers in both major parties which have made a third party initiative viable. Just look at the list of the people who were on the inside of trying to pull off the secret casino initiative and you will have a list of the major party insiders who have been working their "system" for personal benefit for years. Ask Langley who brought him that first casino resolution a year ago April. He should have immediately exposed the conflict of interest with a sitting Board member. They broke faith with the community and neither deserve election.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 2:24 I don't believe anyone has ever run solely on a 3rd party line in this town so how do you know it can't be done? That is just the old-time politician talking. I don't believe DVW is qualified for the position simply based on his career history. I am a Democrat but I will always vote for whom I think is the best candidate regardless of party affiliation. Of course if one has been promised something for a vote - then I could see why one would vote for a party and not the best qualified person. Just take Langley for example; he was willing to sell his soul to the Dems for a cross endorsement. What kind of deal was going on there? Somebody was going to profit from that alliance but thankfully - it did not come to pass.

    ReplyDelete
  20. This idea of how All these people are fed up,is quite laughable..ive followed east greenbush politics for nearly fifty years..no differance if the amount of pissed off people from years past..your kidding yourselves. Third party candidates

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think that the difference is that now there is a real viable alternative, not just the same old same old with a different R/D label - with all the deals made going in. That's exactly what's scaring the bejezzus out of you R/D establishment types. The thought that there could be an administration that wasn't bought and paid for by the insiders is frightening you.

      Delete
  21. Dear 7:50pm,
I am one of those fed up people. I never voted in a local election before but you can bet that I will vote on September 3rd. I'm one of hundreds of people in this town that didn't know, until last year, how poorly our town was/is being run. I also know of many people who always voted along party lines but are so sick of both parties that they're switching to a third party line.

New voters PLUS disenfranchised D/R switch voters = Third party win.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Typo... I meant November 3rd for the election.

      Delete
  22. @7:50, if a third party had no chance there wouldn't be so many people commenting about it. Also, you say you've been following EG politics for 50 years then you would notice the dramatic difference in attendance for over a year now. Last year people chalked it up to the casino, well we don't have a casino and town hall is still packed at the monthly board meetings. If you've been following, then you would know times have truly changed in EG. The only thing that's laughable is the Defruscio and Co. comments saying third parties can't win. If they can't, why waste your breathe (or fingers muscles typing)?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Just a quick note to those who are complaining that this site favors the independent third party line. You're right!!! In order to be finally free from the insider horse trading and deal making to favor the connected, there must be an administration elected which owes nothing to the self-styled muckymucks who like to talk about "the way things have always been done," or like to assert that they "own this town." The mischief won't stop until these people are removed from control. And they're worried that this might be accomplished. Enough already.

    2. Who knows, Langley has yet officially announced his own run for re-electuon...just letters to the editor from his sidekick of an embarrassment Gilbert and his Deputy Supervisor/Town Director of Finance/Langley's campaign treasurer (can you say "conflict"?). Last run Linda was the only one running for clerk and Murphy won despite Defruscios fake letters to the editor trying to discredit her.

    1. Dear readers, I apologize for the vocabulary of the above commenter. But I published the comment to simply illustrate why our position is what it is. We're up against some "character neanderthals" who really shouldn't be around government policy and operations at all. They're not good for quality community life at all. I'm please that more and more citizens are becoming aware of that.

    2. 10;04 AM- That's the kind of comment you choose to make on July the 4th? Most people are gratefully celebrating our Country's, Day of Independence while you are here posting inappropriate and vulgar statements. How sad for you.

    1. Does Kim Carlock want to be anointed or is she going to run for office? Are the Dems just giving it to her? Who is running for judge? Another insider deal there as well?
And people wonder why we need a third party? These people don't challenge each other as our fore fathers intended, they protect their mutual self interests.

      Delete
    2. People don't challenge you are right, but our whole political system has evolved into something I think our forefathers were against and that is a two party system. It is sad but true. With that said I do believe the EG1st party has a pretty good chance of winning in EG, but that is just a local election.

  28. I saw Phil Danaher carrying a petition in my neighborhood. Does anybody know what he is running for?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Phil Danaher is a county legislator whose term isn't up until 2017. Wanna talk about nepotism? His wife Lori also has a county job. She's the Director of Weights and Measures. The Danaher's are cleaning up where county jobs are concerned. Undoubtedly Phil used his weight, pardon the pun, as a county legislator to get her that job. He is undoubtedly circulating petitions for Langley and company in EG since there are no county races this year.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I just read Meaghan Hart's letter to the editor on p.7 of the 7/2 Advertiser. She neglected to mention that she is the Director of Finance, a Langley appointment, and also his campaign treasurer. No conflict of interest there. So far, only she and Eddie Gilbert are willing to stick their necks out to defend Langley. She is afraid of losing her JOB if Langley loses the election. It is yet to be determined why Eddie Gilbert sticks his neck out for Langley but he wins the prize for being the sole defender of honey bee Keith.

    1. Isn't she also Deputy Supervisor? Dilbert doesn't know any better.

  32. Langley will be found something at the county as well. After all, its only taxpayer money.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I seriously doubt Langley will be given a county job if he loses. He's been nothing but an embarrassment to the GOP, has received a ton of negative press, and will be blamed for the demise of the SWF majority in EG. He shouldn't get anything except a big fat don't let the door hitcha on the way out.

  35. Notice is hereby given that the East Greenbush Town Board will hold a Special Meeting for the purpose of appointing Police Officers to the Police Department on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 4:30 PM at Town Hall, 225 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, New York 12144.

  36. @4:56.....Looks like intramural "party" stuff. A name might help. All the infighting and outfighting won't help. The people are tired of trading off between Dems and Reps and their unique foibles. In reality, they're up to the same mischief. Good grief, everybody's related.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Gadfly, the people I have recently talked to are tired of the political deals and favors associated with politics. They are encourage that the eg1st candidates can make a difference. The nay sayers are wrong, as residents begin to understand that the major party lines have failed them. There are a lot of unhappy people out there.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Did some doors today myself. People are TIRED of the M's and H's and DeF's and Lang's, etc. No more deals and favors.

      Delete
  38. Most importantly, folks who are signing the petitions are of all political persuasions. They say the two major parties have had their chances, and we have gotten only more of the same. Folks want plans for thoughtful development, open financial books, a chance to be listened to, and the process of town government to be fair and understandable and the same rules applied to all residents. What's folks are saying is the time is now for change.

    ReplyDelete
  39. People have no faith in the long prevailing parties, and in the NEW candidates the major parties will spit out. We have heard it all. The name is the same, but a different face changes nothing. We need both a new name and new faces. The eg1st candidates gives us just that. Jack, Tina and Tom, you guys are right on the money. Any attackers or accusers from the major political parties, will only prove we have no desire, or need for any of the candidates they are backing. Let freedom reign, and may a better East Greenbush emerge in November.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Bonnie, new names and new faces say nada about ability .... can you say Keith Langley, Deb DiMartino, MaryAnne Matters?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The two major parties want people who will roll over for things like illegal sewer connections at 1 Cooper Ave. and illegal Plat approvals for the Thompson Way Development. I'd say that some new names and new faces not associated with the major party establishment just might free us from the insider good old boy favoritism which has plagued this town for a generation.

      Delete
  41. 7/12 @ 7:55 p.m. That is so unfair. MA Matters has demonstrated her commitment to being a good board member supporting Save EG, EG 1st, ethics, financial responsibility, etc. The fact that you lump her in with the rest means that you are not paying attention either just like so many other residents. By the way, you spelled her name wrong. It's Mary Ann, two words, no "e".

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. remember, MaryAnne voted for the casino twice. her change of heart was because the project had been downsized - it wasn't going to big enough anymore. not the research CasiNO inundated the board members with. now she & hubby Rick are more against Langley than they are for eg1st

btw don't infer that I don't pay attention

  42. Hi see Dave VanWormer has hit the Talks blog to campaign. Is his platform going to be all centered on his obsession with taking Corellis down, or does he have anything of substance to provide?

    ReplyDelete
  43. @ 9:42 AM- I'm not sure it's DVM. It reads more like a page from the C.Def. handbook..

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I disagree, its definitely has to be Dave Van WORMer he has been trying to take Anthony down ever since Mr. Corellis started. Chris on the pother hand has nothing to gain by it.

      Delete
  44. 3:48 (Chris?). Nice try. As you know, Mr. Corellis is backing Mr. Poorman in the Republican Primary race against Supervisor Langley. If Mr. Poorman beats Supervisor Langley on Primary Day, September 10th, C.Def (3:48?) is toast.
    Thanks for playing.

    ReplyDelete
  45. 9:42 here, to start I mean to say "I see" not "Hi see", but the reason why I assumed it was Dave because I agree with 3:48 to an extent that it seems Dave has been trying to knock Coreliss down for some time now. He's spoken at several board meetings essentially questioning Coreliss's decisions. I do have to add he has done so publicly in a respectful manner. Dave also was fired and replaced by Corellis. The Talks blog is a democratic blog, regardless of if it officially is, look at the massive amount of Corellis comments that follow one by one like it's the same person.

  46. Hi Gadfly, lots of good conversations about the eg1st candidates. People are very frustrated with anyone allied with the major party lines. This is going to be one heck of an election.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yes Bonnie. The "way things have always been done" (with nobody watching) has finally hit the wall. I think it's over for the insider deals and special arrangements. Let's hope so.

      Delete
  47. Bonnie L., this election year will be like every other one. It's extremely difficult getting a commitment from people to go vote. They will tell a candidate exactly what he or she wants to hear but come election day, where are they? Busy with their lives, that's where. There is a lot of excitement for all the candidates but it all boils down to one day, just ONE day, November 3rd, from 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. and whether or not people r-e-a-l-l-y care enough about good govt to go vote. Lip service at your front door is easy but actions speak louder than words. PLEASE PLAN TO VOTE!
    NO LANGLEY 2015!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Simply said, I respectfully disagree. The reason why is, I see the glass half full this year, as you appear to see it half empty. Also, I like what I see in the glass this year. I am very much encouraged about eg1st, not discouraged. The political atmosphere is changing, at least locally. Getting the voters out this year will be intense, as eg1st will be a formidable opponent to the two major parties. I'm thinking the voter turnout will be high. Also, this election isn't just about Langley.

    ReplyDelete
  49. True, Ms. L., it's not just about Langley, it's also about a lot of new comers to the playing field who aren't widely known, which makes it even harder to get people to come out to vote. Plus, there are no other races going on at the state or federal levels to draw people out on a chilly November day. Case in point, when Rick Matters came to the playing field, he was a virtual unknown to the town. It took him four campaigns to get elected, four! Mr. Matters was also for good government but he needed to get known before he could get elected. It seems that people don't vote for platforms, they vote for people they know. MA Matters was elected because people identified with her last name. Deb DiMartino was elected because she is well known in the town through her ties with the school district. Phil Danaher was elected for the same reason. Keith Langley was elected in an 'anyone but Rick McCabe' elected year, which sometimes happens. If Rick McCabe was a popular supervisor, Langley would have lost. I don't think of myself as a pessimist but a realist. For that reason, one of my favorite expressions is 'it is what it is.'

    ReplyDelete
  50. Gadfly, you missed a good TB meeting last night.
MA launched an indepth discussion with Comptroller George Phillips about the Luther Road Sidewalk Project that's been languishing for years and where the money will come from to pay for it. Langley stayed silent throughout the discussion.
Langley was called out by Deb and MA for signing a settlement agreement with CSEA to settle grievances WITHOUT town board approval. When questioned about it, all the blood ran out of his face, and he refused to discuss it. Apparently, he is making decisions unilaterally and in secret, hoping not to get caught. Last night, he got caught in a big way.
Also, resolution 120 to extend four PDDs that expire 8/2 was defeated. Deb and MA voted YES to extend the PDDs for three months to give them a chance to get familiar with them. Keith Langley voted no seemingly just to spite them and be the decider. Everyone was stunned as he stormed out afterwards in his usual fashion.

  51. AnonymousJuly 16, 2015 at 8:04 AM---Settling union grievances without Town Board approval? What does that entail--individual grievances or group complaints? Langley is such a huge bonehead. He shouldn't sign anything with anyone to settle anything without Town Board approval. Complete numbskull. Langley cannot be depended upon to do anything in a transparent way. Such a sneaky guy.

    1. Where were the attorney's? Did Jay Gervin advise Langley to settle grievances without the TB? Did Gruenberg okay this deal? Whoever the new supervisor needs to know what these attorneys are doing before the organizational meeting in January. We are paying these guys a fortune and this back room deal is what they come up with? Langley couldn't write a settlement agreement on his own so either one of these attorneys or his deputy/finance director/treasurer, Meaghan Hart did it.

      Delete
    2. @ 8:45 AM- It's even worse. It looks like Supervisor Langley made these settlements w/o even telling CPs Matters and DiMartino about it. Why does Langley feel the need to conduct governmental business without even telling his SWF partners on the Town Board about it. And how often does Supervisor Langley need to be called out on these things before he stops his secretive ways. Didn't he learn anything from his WWTP Toxic Sewage Spill and the Honey Bee Prostitution "Spa" debacles?
Not good, Mr. Langley. Not good at all.

    3. The bigger question is how come he stated he wasn't sure and doesn't remember what he even signed?!

  52. Please read Ed Gilbert's wonderful letter in today's Advertiser. Supervisor Langley's extraordinary record of accomplishments, coupled with his whimsical sense of humor, has made Keith BOTH very popular AND very well known throughout our Town.

    1. Extraordinary Achievement! extraordinary Achievement! Step right up, folks! Gilbert's letter reads like a barker at a carnival. We would be satisfied with a supervisor who tried hard, was transparent, spoke and listened to us. But instead we get Extraordinary Achievements! This letter was laughable.

  53. I really don't understand what the "talks" bloggers don't get?!?!? #10 in the agreement states that the settlement needs BOARD APPROVAL. They should really read it prior to commenting on it & making themselves sound like a incompetent babbling idiots. WOW!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Per Ed Gilbert's leter in The Advertiser, Supervisor Keith Langley "streamlined the process for new businesses that want to locate in East Greenbush." Supervisor Langley's "streamlining" yielded the Honey Bee Spa, which was shut down due to legal issues and a casino proposal which the residents' of this Town had to retain an attorney to fight. Ed Gilbert, former Deputy Supervisor under Keith Langley seriously believes the Langley streamlined process is working? Complete lack of business vision and COMMON SENSE!

  55. A note to The Dude: Your comment is related to personnel matters which should be addressed in the Employee Handbook and deviations from what is spelled out as policy in the Handbook should be addressed to the Town Board. I think the Blog is the wrong place for it. If employee rights are being violated and favoritism is being shown, document it and make a complaint.

    ReplyDelete
  56. If Supervisor Langley signed a settlement agreement without town board approval, what else is he doing/signing behind the board's back? Is the town being run by one man? This is very serious and we should all be deeply concerned about it. Apparently this supervisor has decided to disregard the rest of the board. Yikes!

    ReplyDelete
  57. @ 8:39 AM,
There is no need for anyone to be deeply concerned. I quote from the "Extraordinary" Advertiser letter from Ed Gilbert...
"He (Keith Langley) always will do what is best for the Town"
I couldn't have written it better myself.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I suppose everyone does have different ideas on "what's best for the Town." Our Supervisor thought it was "best for this Town" to disrespect his own residents at meeting after meeting, to bring a casino situated right dab in the middle of a Montessori school and our high school, and I guess he thought it was "best for this Town" to get involved with human trafficking by bringing in the Honey Bee Spa. I guess he can brag about the businesses he brought in (in which some are closed already). I mean, what else can you do with a struggling main street like Columbia Tpke but bring in a few more tattoo parlors and pawn shops and smoke shops to buy your bongs? I guess these aren't complete without a happy ending spa!

    2. What is up with that RIDICULOUS letter??? Ed is Langley's protector shielding him from harms way. BS**** NO ONE believes you Mr. Gilbert & to attack the women who are finally taking a stand for the people & not allowing Langley to continue to mismanage us. WE ALL LAUGH @ YOU!!!! You state that their letters to the advertiser paint them in a bad light....oh no, how wrong you are you & Langley are doing a fine job of only making yourselves sound & look bad. Face it, Langley is done in this town he is nothing more than LIAR that has done & continuously does nothing for this town. Bye-Bye Langley & Gilbert ~good riddance.

  58. The beautiful thing about Keith Langley is that he has always encouraged people to come to him with different ideas. His door at Town Hall is always open and Keith always enjoys having good discussions with everyone about all issues, big and small. Keith is very comfortable discussing topics ranging from pot holes on the Town Roads to Ethics Reform to contract negotiations to the Waste Water Treatment Plant to complex Zoning issues and Planned Development Districts.
Keith Langley is truly a man for all the people and for all of the important issues facing our Town.
Frankly, I am quite surprised that THREE PEOPLE are running against him for Town Supervisor.
I would have thought that with a record like Keith's, he would be running unopposed this election.

  59. Does anyone else but me wonder why Ed Gilbert defends this supervisor like it's his job or something? He gets up meeting after meeting and makes a damn fool himself there and in the Advertiser. It begs the question, who is Ed Gilbert and what's in it for him? He nearly alienated his whole family over the casino scare and now he's going to the mat for a supervisor who has lost hold of the reigns and the team is running wild and out of control. He probably signed the settlement agreement in secret because he didn't want the grievances publicized but it got out anyway just like it always does. This supervisor never learns and that boob Gilbert just keeps defending him. It's craziness!

  60. Keith Langley voted down extending four PDDs for three months because he thought the new expiration date of November 2, 2015 was purposely chosen to mess up his re-election on November 3, 2015. In fact, CPs DiMartino and Matters just wanted three months to study the PDDs, which just happened to bring the expiration date to 11/2 but Langley, who is always thinking only of himself, couldn't imagine that the time period had nothing whatsoever to do with him or election day. Four developers paid the price that day for his suspicions and paranoia. He never reached out to the two board members to see if the date could be changed; he just noted no.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Gadfly, what are your thoughts on the recent supervisor's report? Contrary to Eddie Gilbert's opinion, all he seems to have to run on is paying off the debt but he still can't produce an audit report substantiating his claims. Also, are we still in junk bond status? What does he have to prove his claims?

    1. What's interesting is Langley came into office while the OSC was completing and audit because our books were so mismanaged for 2011 and 2012. Langley will be LEAVING office with the OSC auditing our books yet again, because the 2012 and 2013 books were so mismanaged they couldn't be audited. Our Supervisor acknowledged the mess in 2012, said he'd produce and follow through on a Corrective Action Plan, to which he failed. But yet he keeps painting himself as being fiscally responsible! What's fiscally responsible about having unauditable books for 2 years as CFO?

    2. The Supervisor could have had a viable record to run on if he has simply made a list of the recommendations contained in the last couple of OSC audit reports and set about implementing them. Didn't happen. The agenda became DeFruscio's "bus driving" and caving to the personal and private agenda of the shot-callers in the other party. The Machines can't afford to de-politicize Planning and Zoning.

I loved the Supervisor's Report. The individual photos Meaghan took of Keith and the new Police Officers are outstanding. Pictures are worth a thousand words. I'm sure each of those photos will be a cherished keepsake for Keith and the Officers for many years to come. Thanks for sharing them on the Town website for all of us to see. I wonder why the other Town Board members weren't included in the pictures? Didn't they also interview and vote for the new Officers?

Will we be seeing those taxpayer paid photos of Candidate and Politician Langley in this week's Advertiser?

      Delete
    2. ILL, the other TB members weren't in the photos because they are, in his own words, "dead to him." In 2012, when he was elected, and again in 2014 he had it made in the shade. All he had to do was show an ounce of respect and appreciation for those around him who were, and will always be, smarter than him. But he wasn't even smart enough to do that. Shame.

Here's my favorite quote from the latest Keith Langley Supervisor's Report. "I hope that everyone enjoys the rest of their summer. Stay safe and have fun."
Here's a quote of my own for you Supervisor Langley. "I hope that you enjoy the rest of your one and only term as Supervisor. Stay safe and have fun spending my taxes until January 1, 2016.

Would you have any idea when the current OSC Audit of the current Langley Administration will be released for public viewing? Will it be before the Candidates Debates? Before Election Day? Before 2016?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Not a clue. I'm convinced that the last one's release was influenced by politics though. It was released after the election. Mr. DiNapoli (Dem) didn't want to compromise the then Supe's chances. Maybe since the incumbent labels are different this time, the timing might be different. Funny how things work, isn't it.

    2. We don't need an audit to oust Langley, just common sense!

  66. When will Supervisor Keith Langley be forced to call yet another "Special" Town Board at an inconvenient time in order to straighten out the mess of the four PDDs that will expire on August the 2nd due to his inability to comprehend the Agenda and follow the discussion at last week's Town Board meeting?
What a way to run a government.
Not good, Mr. Langley. Not good at all

    1. I don't think Langley knew what he was doing, sadly I partly agreed with is no vote. The PDD renewals should not have all been in the same resolution. Some of those "developments" are a decade and a half old. Time to come back to the table with either a better plan to actually follow through on, or time for new developers to come in and actually do something. If the PDD's were that important, why did the developers and our Town wait until they were pretty much expired to do anything?

  67. Just our rotten luck that Poorman has entered stage left to complicate things. Let's dispose of him on 9/10 so that it is Keith Langley who has to answer on 11/3 for his low grade performance. EG 1st deserves to run against Langley but Langley doesn't deserve to bow out early after what he put EG through last year especially. The casino nightmare was just that, a nine month long nightmare! We almost became a casino town! Resist the urge to dispose of Langley early. He deserves to run against EG 1st but, more importantly, EG 1st deserves the chance to run against and defeat him. Who will ever forget the infamous and arrogant remark "the resolution is the resolution" or the blank stares and stone cold, irritated faces of the board members as people pleaded for reasonableness? Who will ever forget DeFruscio and Gilbert strolling in like they own the place and shooting off their mouths? Poorman is just an opportunist who is attempting to seize the moment after being away from politics in East Greenbush for almost two decades now. It's Langley who needs to be held accountable on 11/3 for his poor performance, not the newcomer.

    1. Poorman is running against Langley in a Republican primary. Encourage the people eligible to vote in a primary vote for who they think is best. Whoever wins is the party who "deserves" to run.

  69. Let's not forget, 11:53 PM, that at the last Democratic Committee Meeting our Town's very popular Receiver of Taxes, Toni Murphy, made a motion to support Keith Langley for the Democratic Party endorsement for Town Supervisor in the November, 2015 election at the request of former Democratic Supervisor, Rick McCabe. That motion was narrowly defeated. If Mr. Langley were to win the September Republican Primary it is quite possible that Toni Murphy and her many friends will once again support a cross endorsement of Keith Langley, thus allowing Mr. Langley to run on BOTH the Republican AND the Democratic lines.
Remember, the final Democratic electoral slate is NOT chosen by a Primary. It is selected at the Democratic Caucus which is held AFTER the Primary Election votes are counted.
I'm planning on voting AGAINST Mr. Langley each and every chance I get.

    1. The scene you just described certainly demonstrates that the whole bunch are cut from the same cloth. Both machines have been ripping of the Town for years, and both need to be removed from power. We need a totally new alternative to accomplish that, with no connection to the insiders on both sides of the political fence and their intramural "deals."

  71. Gadfly, I find it curious that both the Chris DeFruscio controlled EG Republican Committee and the Ed Gilbert influenced Conservative Committee decided to give Toni Murphy a free ride this year.
As a result, Ms. Murphy will be running unopposed for Tax Receiver.
    Coincidence?

    2. Speaking about C.Def- Why hasn't his Republican Committee filed a current Financial Disclosure Report with the State Board of Elections. The last one they filed was back in January, 2014 and showed that they were over seven thousand dollars in the red. Is that legal? Didn't the Repubs have a fundraiser on May 28th, 2015? Don't they have to report the results of that fundraiser? Both the EG Dems and the EG Firsters reported on time. What makes C.Def so special that he doesn't have to follow the law like everyone else?

    3. DeFriscio is no longer chair. He passed it to Fiacco in the beginning of the year. So, now Langley, DeFruscio and Fiacco drive around in town vehicles, politicking on town time - ALL DAY LONG!

That explains why Keith Langley has been walking around Town Hall like he's got the election in the bag.

  75. DeF doesn't need a Marta letter to nail Murphy (and McCabe). All he needs to do is quote the State Comptroller from the last state audit about the illegal stipends and sickleave/longevity payments to these two. Murphy got stipends for making deposits. Isn't that part of the job? Of course DeF advised Langley not to go after recoupment as recommended by OSC which just shows that they're all in the same bed together. Both parties show no character or class. If Murphy wants to run, she should make the payments cited by the State Comptroller back to the Town.

  76. Yeah, Def is in bed with the Dems. That shows by how the Dems jumped all over the "Deal" that Def and Langlost wanted....Not! Not only Langlost, but Tuffy and McCabe also. Seems to me this Dem slate is on their own. Good for them!

    1. I have to agree, there is no way Dave VanWormer is going along with anything Ercole is a part of. He's way too smart to get burned by that idiot again. And as for the rest of the used to be big wigs of the Dem party, they are no where to be found since the "Deal" was blown up. Word is they blame DVW, but i hear there were alot more than him against it.

  80. Our wonderful Supervisor, Keith Langley, has taken some rough treatment in this week's edition of the Advertiser. It's time for the thousands of Keith's supporters to begin writing letters to the Advertiser outlining the many Langley Administration accomplishments. Meaghan Hart and Ed Gilbert have already done a masterful job in highlighting the masterful Langley record, but they can't be expected to keep on carrying the Langley message all by themselves.
Let's all get to work and start writing some strong and informative letters to the Advertiser.
Again, kudos to Meaghan Hart and Ed Gilbert for their steadfast public support for their leader, Supervisor Keith Langley. Your Herculean efforts on Keith's behalf have not gone unnoticed.

    1. While Is agree with Poorman's rant, god help us all if we have someone who publicly displays this childish lack of professionalism. Poorman in office will be no better than Langley. Langley lacks intelligence, but Poorman's Advertiser rants are similar to Gilbert's monthly Town Board rants. Poorman has shown his true colors and we aren't even past the primaries.
