East Greenbush First Reception

20 comments:

  1. To anyone reading this post, please reach out to your family, friends, co-workers or neighbors in the town and ask them to go with you to this event to meet these amazing candidates. If this is going to work, it must be a grass roots, word of mouth effort just like the effort to defeat the CASINO. The tickets to attend these fundraisers will pay for themselves if Jack, Tina and Tom win. Have you read their platform? You can find it at EG1st.org. Just last year, the upscale bedroom community of EG came dangerously close to becoming a gambling destination in the northeast for thousands in love with games of chance. Led by Supervisor Keith Langley, a five-member board thought nothing of making the decision (for us!) to host a gambling casino on residential Thompson Hill. Somehow, this supervisor can accomplish sending out multiple mailings in his bid for re-election but surveying the community last year to get their thoughts on bringing a gambling casino to town was just not possible. On Nov 3rd, let's make re-electing Keith Langley just not possible. There will not be another opportunity like this to elect honest, hardworking, professional candidates to the town board. If you're tired of the "games of chance" associated with voting, vote
Jack, Tina, Tom on Nov 3rd and walk away that day a winner.

  2. I'm going to their fundraiser. They're running to help our town. They're not running for self-interest. WE NEED TO HELP THEM to help us. I can't imagine the hours and money that their campaign requires.

The Republicans are throwing money at the Langley campaign for that's what it will take for him to have any chance to win. Fancy ads and slick mailers. Jack, Tina and Tom don't have the big parties paying their campaign costs.

It's really up to the people of EG to make Jack, Tina and Tom successful. We need to step it up.

  3. 9:01AM- That's the county Republican bosses throwing their money to Langley. Most of the EG Republicans are not supporting Langley. Many went with Mike Poorman and are now considering Jack, Tina and Tom instead of the Langley team.

  4. Looks to me like DeF and Gilbert are attempting to woo MAM and DEB back to the mythical (and lonely) "fold." They've taken down a whole bunch of the insults from their bash blog. And Talks has gone quiet too. The four amigos there don't want to be tagged with their garbage during the campaign.

    1. Most if not all of tge comments on that garbage of a website stem from the same person or computer/device...they don't realize still it can traced.

  5. I agree with you 10:56. I'd bet that the County route is the conduit for the Feathers money promised to Langley during the casino fiasco attempt. I'd also bet that there is a bit of coin from the three Dems on the Hill who hatched the casino plot in the first place. What a despicable conspiracy. They know nothing of honest democratic government.

    1. After all, it was Feathers who told Maryann when she asked what happens if we dont get the casino and protection for Keith, "never walked away - won't do it now".

  6. MAM and Deb just need ONE candidate, with whom they can work, to win. There are four solid possibilities. If Langley wins, he needs his elroys to win too or he's out of luck. The odds are not in his favor, which could explain why they're easing up on pummeling the two women. For 15 mos, they've been pounding away non-stop at MAM and Casino Keith has a proud tradition of disrespecting the residents of EG since 2012. They now think that by going quiet for a few weeks they can undo the damage they've been doing to the town for decades. DVW is drooling like a St. Bernard over the possibility of winning in an 'anyone but Langley' election year. Neither of them get it that both of them are equally bad and that this may well be an 'anyone but machine run candidates who don't give a damn about the town' election year.
    Vote Jack, Tina, Tom 2015

  7. Gotta wonder how much machine political pressure is being aimed at Comptroller DiNapoli to keep the lid on the East Greenbush OSC report until after the election. That report couldn't benefit Langley as the Moody's "watch list" achievement would indicate. The previous administration leaned on DiNapoli too, to prevent the release of the OSC report pending at the previous Supervisor election.

  8. 7:46 a.m. Question. Why would democrat DiNapoli protect a Republican endorsed town supervisor? In other words, who is doing the leaning? They must have some kind of clout to call off the dogs at OSC. It's also obvious that the Times Union is keeping a considerable distance from what's going on in this town. Normally, a TU reporter is assigned to each municipality. He or she keeps an eye on the website for newsworthy events but there's been nothing but silence. No reporter interest in our new Moody's rating of F for failed to produce three consecutive years worth of audits, no interest in the ongoing nightmare with the money pit called the WWTP, and no interest in the failed stipend resolution that killed the taxpayers chances of getting the NYS Local Retirement System to deal with greedy former and current town employees who will benefit for life by the extra money they gave themselves while in office, and even no interest in the primary that just took place between Langley and Poorman. Nope, no interest at all. What is going on here? Whether it's OSC or the TU, no one is biting. Like the pictorial maxim of the three mystic apes who "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil," they are dealing with gross impropriety by turning a blind eye and they are literally helping Langley to play unsuspecting, unaware, unawake residents for stupid fools. And THAT'S how he won the primary. Wake up, people, before it's too late.
    VOTE Jack, Tina, Tom 2015!

    1. For starters, the "three guys on the Hill" who were deeply involved in the casino mischief are Dem insiders. Feathers himself has been known to influence politicians and office holders, in case you haven't heard. That's his main "profession." The guys on the Hill also worked (among others) for Langley in the Primary. Didn't the cross-endorsement "dream" begin with the casino deals? If the monkey business in this Town gets exposed, both machines will be deeply wounded. They're all the same anyway. As a former office holder in EG said recently - "If Jack wins, we (meaning the insiders) don't get anything." They're scared silly that a CLEAN BREAK for the people of East Greenbush is coming in November. That's my take. So the lobbying is at a fevered pitch, along with the "buying and the selling."

  9. Why aren't MAM and Deb in contact with the state comptroller to get to the bottom of this? Are they part of the problem as well?
We'll be voting for Jack, Tina and Tom.

  10. 1:50 p.m. What makes you think that they're not in contact with the state comptroller? It's one thing to reach out, it's quite another to get someone to call back. East Greenbush is the problem child of munis in the northeast. There are way more problems than hours to deal with them. This won't change if Keith Langley and his running mates, Larry and Trent, get elected. If that happens, heaven help us all.

    1. They probably are in contact with the state comptroller, but unless they know how to do the contact so that it provides the leverage to make the comptroller feel that he needs to act, it makes no difference. Just making a phone call won't work.

  11. 8:42 p.m. If you know "how to do the contact so that it provides the leverage to make the comptroller feel that he needs to act," please share or get elected so that you can show everyone how it's done.

  12. Read the TU editorial today about Schodack. Town boards members just have no moral compass. It seems. I realize this not our fight but, we can sympathize with the residents as we went through the same thing.

    1. Here's the link to the Schodack editorial. Sure looks like the same kind of secrecy that we had to deal with in the casino monkey business that the machine insiders pulled on the citizens of East Greenbush.

  13. I just checked the TU online and can't find the article. I was going by what Paul Vandenburg read on the radio this morning. By the account of what he said, it was that the people have no say in this.

  14. Message to C. Def. Sure hope you're following the recent Troy Election Law violations stories. A number of people from multiple political parties will be following your "handling" of Absentee Voter applications and ballots this year. Have a nice day.

  15. Excellent reception last night. Councilwomen Mary Ann Matters and Deberah DiMartino stood up and proclaimed their support of Jack Conway for Supervisor and Tom Grant and Tina Tierney for Town Board. They said Supervisor Keith Langley won't speak to them or work with them. They said they "need help" if they are going to be able to serve the town in any kind of a meaningful way. They said they need Jack, Tina and Tom. On Nov 3rd, let's answer their call for help in force.
