  1. Would you know if Keith Langley and his team will be participating?

  2. I just can't imagine what their explanation would be for not debating?

  3. Simple. They are chicken.

  4. If the Langley team won't debate, they don't deserve our votes. Blank stares just don't cut it anymore Mr. Langley. I'm very disappointed that he and his team refuse to show respect for the people of EG. Who do they think they are? Royalty?

    1. I'd guess that there's LOTS of EG insider Dem and County Rep (and Feathers) money in Langley's war chest. They've found somebody they can really "run" so they're going to try to keep him. Remember some Dem insiders supported Langley in his Primary. I guess they figure they can "buy" the election with enough PR money and don't have to debate the issues. Langley's big problem is that he can't support his financial claims because they're made with mirrors.

  8. Emergency board meeting at the sewerage treatment plant will be cancelled due to the lack of a quorum. Some emergency.

  9. At the end of the day, the cost of the sewerage plant will be a financial millstone around the collective necks of the residents for decades to come. There are literally millions of reasons why we need change.

  10. Is anyone really surprised that the East Greenbush Republican Committee has once again violated the State Election Law by neglecting to file the last three required Financial Disclosure Statements with the NYS Board of Elections. The last statement they filed was in July. Since then the Town's Residents have been inundated with the Keith Langley team's political ads which read at the bottom "paid for by the East Greenbush Republican Committee." Why won't the East Greenbush Republican Committee follow the law and disclose where they got the big bucks from to pay for all those fancy ads?

    1. I'll bet whoever paid for the ads is having byers remorse today. Another crisis at the WWT plant that can trace back to Langley's errors. Langley refuses to come to work and do his job and appoints political hacks instead of an engineer to represent us and prevent these accidents. Shame on Langley and shame on whoever paid for those ads.

  11. That's the Langley M.O. Do everything in secret and hope no one cares enough to find out. It's not the way to run a government and it's not the way to run a political campaign. If you like your tax money spent in secret, be sure and vote for the Langley team on Election Day.
As for me, I'll be voting for Tina and Tom.

  12. Speaking of things done in secret by Langley. When can we expect a report from him regarding the recent extensive weather related damages at the Waste Water Treatment Plant?
    Keith? Keith? Keith?

  13. and along on the tour with the media at the water treatment plant, our MIA Town Board Member, Phil Malone. Where were the Town Board Members that have been trying to resolve this ridiculous issue! On the Un-Invite List I presume.

  14. Not surprised that Board Member Malone was there. After all, for many years, instead of pursuing their responsibilities in a business-like manner, the Dem majority machine continually paid DEC fines while raiding the Sewer and Water funds millions of dollars for General Fund expenses, stipends and illegal benefits for insiders - resulting in Junk Bond status for the Town. And remember Mr. Malone's words as the County option was rejected? Something like "we want to keep control." Well how's the control working out? You need competent and intelligent decision making, not political wheeling and dealing.

  16. I just checked the Board of Elections website and found that "The Friends of Keith Langley" campaign committee has neglected to file the required 32 Day Pre General Election Financial Disclosure Statement Report. Why doesn't that surprise me?

  17. Langley's 2016 budget includes a town engineer for $65K. Can anyone say Richie Benko? Geez, haven't we wasted enough money on patronage positions? When will Langlost stop worshipping at the alter of the stalled machine dems who have all but destroyed this town? Pathetic, Keith.

  18. On the town's website is a "state of emergency declaration" and "emergency order" related to the rainstorm on 9/29 & 30 that soaked the town's sewerage treatment plant. My issue with that document is that I do not see how the needed repairs rise to the level of a "public health emergency." It seems like all it did was enable Langley to bypass the town board and authorize all in his own what amounts to an unknown amount of money for storm repairs. I question the emergency order because even when the plant flooded with 100,000 gallons of poop on March 12 overnight into March 13, rendering it incapacitated both inside and out, a state of emergency was not declared then to "preserve the public safety." Why? On October 1st, CPs Matters and DiMartino called for a special meeting to get information on the state of the town's finances. When two board members request a special meeting, the town has 10 days to schedule, announce, and hold the meeting.  They told Langley that in the absence of the information they need to make sound financial decisions for the town, it would be irresponsible for them to authorize additional expenditures of funds for the WWTP project, however, instead of scheduling the special meeting immediately and happily volunteering all the financial information they need to do their job, his response instead has been to flat out ignore their request and declare a "state of emergency" instead so that he can authorize expenditures in the tens of thousands of dollars without including them. To date, he hasn't scheduled or announced the special meeting they requested. He has until 10/9 to comply with their request for the meeting. Will it happen? It's highly doubtful. The town is in a full blown crisis of leadership.
    Jack, Tina, Tom 2015!

Lastly, the emergency order remains in effect until removed by order of the supervisor. It is unclear at this time if he will try to keep the order in effect so that he can continue to unilaterally authorize additional expenditures for the plant (but not necessarily related to the recent storm damage) until the completion of the plant upgrade and repairs on or about November 25, 2015.

  19. According to the State Board of Elections Website The East Greenbush Republican Committee has still not filed their required Financial Disclosure Forms with the NYS Board. Why would the Republican Committee want to pay substantial civil penalties (up to $10,000) in order to avoid disclosing who their financial backers are?

  20. The "Elephant in the Room" question - What kind of adequately designed and constructed foundation gets compromised by 5 inches of rain?

    1. That's an excellent question. It can be added to "when the plant flooded with 100,000 gallons of poop in March, why wasn't a state of emergency declared then to "preserve the public safety?" Something here has smelled worse than the poop plant for a looong time now. The consultants and the contractors are having a field day with EG and we're totally at their mercy! Pay up or we'll walk! Isn't it possible, no probable, that Langley won't give Matters and DiMartino the special meeting they want because things are spiraling out of control and they can't explain and/or justify the finances? Just wait 'til we get our sewer and water bills next year and they're 50% or more higher. Betcha folks will be attending board meetings then to scream blue bloody murder about their bill! But the study Matters wanted got a big, fat NO from Langley and his feisty little brother Phillip. Aren't they a pair? What did Langley promise Malone to get him to team up with him? A job? Maybe Malone will be the new town engineer. Think that's beyond the realm of possibility? Think again. What a sad joke this town is.
      Jack, Tina, Tom 2015!

  21. Well who Polices the Town? Can't these election LAW violations be reported??? Can't this "emergency" declaration be petitioned to the State Attorney General? Hard to believe one person can make a declaration to give himself Dictator powers with no checks or balances? Seems illegal to me. I would think the Town Board would need to declare the emergency not just the Supervisor... Hopefully someone cares enough to file these complaints officially before Langley just laughs and wins his way to the election. BTW - all of the EG1st lawn signs showing up today look good in the neighborhood.

  22. WAIT a minutes (or a week is ok I guess). The rain was last week so how can this all of a sudden be an "emergency" that our fearless "leader" needs to give himself extraordinary powers to address a week AFTER the fact??? Wouldn't he have addressed this "EMERGENCY" last week if it was truly an emergency or if he had a week to address this, couldn't he have called a special TB meeting and addressed this as a normal government function??? Someone please call the State and request an investigation of our Town "leader"....

    1. You say "Someone please call the State and request an investigation..."
Why "Someone"? Why not YOU! Take action. Don't wait for other people.

If you truly want change, you have to do your part. If you don't know who to call, then ask. The Gadfly will help you get the information that you need.

EG1st--Think about making that a paid ad.

  25. Lenartz owes over $8,000 in back taxes! He should NOT be running. This is exactly why the political parties in EG are terrible for our town: they do not care who they have for candidates, they just want to win.

The parties think they can put anyone on their line and people will vote because they told us to but they are WRONG.

VOTE EG1st and end the corruption!
