  1. Unfortunately, I will be out of town tonight on business so I will not be able to attend the debate. I do want send my new friends, Jack Conway,Tina Tierney and Tom Grant, my best wishes and my thanks for being an integral part of this historic moment in the history of the Town of East Greenbush.

  2. FYI. As of this morning, EG Republican Treasurer, Sean Mulvey has still refused to file the Board of Elections Financial Disclosure Forms for the East Greenbush Republican Committee.
Sure hope someone asks the Keith Langley, Larry Lenartz and Trent Tibbitts Republican team to explain why.

  3. It's pretty bad that our Board of Ethics has to consistently plea for our own Town Board to comply with our own Ethics Law. After months of requesting at Town Board meetings requesting that they comply, they had to turn to requesting such in writing: http://eastgreenbush.org/document-downloads/board-of-ethics/doc_download/1576-letter-to-town-board. I know of a group of candidates who are willing to comply with the law!!!! GO EG1st

  4. So what did you think, boys and girls??? I'd say that EG1st had three grand slam home runs. It's all about a Clean Break. All you have to do as ask who was in the wheel house and the engine room deciding, advising and consenting over the last decade or two that got the Town into the mess it's in, to see what needs to be done. As Jack pointed out toward the end of debate, why didn't that "blue ribbon" committee that decided on the Waste Water Treatment direction ever consider the cost of the debt service related to that decision? A political call without counting the cost to US. Sorry Pete, it was "machine driven." And it's time to stop it.

  5. One thing that I noticed tonight was that only a small fraction of the 39 insiders who nominated the Democratic candidates at the Caucus showed up tonight to support their candidates.

  6. At tonight's debate, Mr. VanWormer simply paled in comparison to Mr. Conway who is just a master of articulation, but Mr. Grant truly stole the show with his passion for good government coupled with his good-humored wit and charm. Ms. Tierney served up her usual sweet-self with a side of 'don't underestimate me.' We need this kind of intelligence, passion and zeal on the town board. As an aside, did Mr. VanWormer really say that he wants to build a mountainous island of dredge in the middle of Hampton Lake and build a bridge so that people can cross over to it and hibachi on it? I thought that's what I heard but it's so absurd that I can't be sure. Can anyone confirm? Ms. Smyth did quite well and appeared professional and enthusiastic. Mr. Stenson worked up the gumption to express his frustration with EG1st characterization of major party line people as being the trouble and problem with EG. Do you think he got it all out of his system? Of course, the show stopper tonight was the absence of the ever charming Supervisor Langley and the replacements Larry and Trent. How dare they ask for our votes and then not bother to show up to an extremely well done debate? What kind of message did their absence send to the high school kids who asked the questions? Supervisor Langley and his closed door, closed mouth, closed mind policy must go.
    Jack, Tina, Tom 2015!

    1. Dave did mention an island in the middle of Mamor Lake. I believe it will take away the character of the lake. The gem of our town needs to be cleaned up, not an island in the middle if it. The Manor park could us a good face lift, too.

  7. Thank you to all the candidates that participated in last night's debate--EG1st and the Dems!! Thank you to EG1st and the Dems for showing voters the respect we deserve by being present and answering questions.

  8. If the EG Republicans (Langley, Lenartz, Tibbits) had anything positive to promote they would have been present for last night's debate. Their no-show to the debate shows people they have nothing good to say about themselves AND that even they believe their record is indefensible.

  9. Notice, folks, that Langley, Lenartz and Tibbitts were all absent from the debate last night, which means that Langley is already pulling the "I'm the boss!" number on them. Do we want mature people in office who can walk and talk on their own or do we want newbies who need to be told what to say and do by Keith Langley and Chris DeFruscio? Larry Lenartz said he would be his own man if elected but that was not demonstrated last night. Chris DeFruscio is Trent Tibbitts soon to be father-in-law. Chris is the former Chairman of the EG Republican Committee who brought us Keith Langley. He stepped down as Chair so he could now bring us young Mr. Tibbitts, who both Langley and DeFruscio expect to be able to run and control. If Langley was a good supervisor, this might not be so bad and the two women board members might still be working with him, but Keith Langley is not performing well in the job, as evidenced by our freshly killed credit rating by Moody's Investors Service, so electing Keith, Trent and Larry will put Mr. Langley firmly in control and then God help us all. Mr. VanWormer demonstrated last night that he is aptly suited to running his small business in Columbia Plaza and that should not change.
    Jack/Tina/Tom 2015!

  10. Good afternoon. Between supervisor candidates Langley and VanWormer, which one is worse?
    Thank you.

    1. It's hard to resist answering this question. Langley failed to attend the candidate debate last night, so right out of the gate, score one for DVW. Other than that, they're so similar in key ways that it's hard to say who's "worse." First, they are both unconscionably political, putting secret deals and sweaty handshakes before good government everytime. They both practice nudge, nudge, wink, wink government with a handful of politically connected insiders who work to take the town for all it's worth for personal gain. They both turn their heads the other way for campaign contributions and votes rather than insist on best practices and right serious wrongs that need to be addressed and corrected. They both steadfastly refuse to see their faults and failings and both see themselves as victimized by anyone who holds them accountable. Worst of all, they are so much the same that unless we all vote for Jack Conway for supervisor, we will literally have no choice but to suffer through four more years of bad government in EG. Bottom line? If you think it's expensive now to live in EG, elect Langley or DVW and watch your taxes, fees and utility bills go through the roof. Don't worry about who's worse. Simply vote for who's best on 11/3. Vote for Jack, Tina and Tom on row I of the ballot. The "I" is for integrity.

  11. I'm all in for Tina, Tom and Jack! They each did an outstanding job in the debate and I am confident they will work together on the Town Board for ALL the people of East Greenbush.

  12. Interesting to note that two big-time bank rollers (and insiders) of the Dem machine in Town - and the two behind the casino initiative - are now backing Langley. They found somebody they can control. So much for party loyalty. Perhaps that's behind what Mr. Stenson was complaining about at the debate.

  13. Langley has a vested interest in continuing the cover-up of the wrong doings on Cooper Ave and Thompson Hill Road because it all happened in his watch and he doesn't want it exposed. Even the Planning and Zoning Boards are in on the cover-up. The Bldg Inspector is in on it too and he should retire before he finally gets caught dealing below the radar. Unfortunately, he's so greedy that he'll continue to gamble and work longer for ill-gotten gains. He's a civil service employee who should be investigated by the Inspector General's office and brought up on charges. The problem is that unless the supervisor leads the charge on cleaning up the corruption, the state won't take action. Not only is Langley NOT leading the charge, he's preventing it from happening because he's involved. The only solution lies just around the corner. On 11/3, we MUST vote Langley OUT and VOTE Conway, Tierney and Grant IN. Otherwise, we'll be screwed for another four LONG years.

  14. It looks like it was a busy day for EG1st. We saw Tina, Tom and Jack early this morning near the Library starting up a campaign blitz with what looked like dozens of campaign volunteers. About two hours later we spotted them going door to door in the Huntswood area. We then happened to drive by them and waved as they were walking down Celeste Drive in the late afternoon.
Tina, Tom and Jack are showing the energy needed to win on November 3rd and the energy needed to lead the Town of East Greenbush starting on January 1st.
    Go Tina, Tom and Jack.

  15. Jack Conway and his team are a bright future. Langley and Van Wormer are a dark past.

Jack Conway and his team have run a perfect campaign. Langley and VanWomer's job performance are simply terrible.

It is exactly this simple as, regardless of political party, we cast our votes. Dark past or bright future? Thank you Jack Conway and your team for showing us the opportunity for a bright future!

  16. 9:26AM- I couldn't agree more with what you write about the Jack Conway team. Please allow me to mention Tina Tierney and Tom Grant by name as well. They and Jack are the team and we are very proud of each of them!!

  17. The Langley administration's EGMatterss blog is accusing Jack Conway of being a communist. Is that legal? Mr. Conway should bring this to the state police to see if they can find out who is making this heinous and serious accusation against him.

    1. Frankly, I wouldn't give it any time or thought at all. That drivel just displays the character, competence and "intellectual ability" of the perps. Strictly third grade, if that. I think we can expect something in the league of Marta Andiago sometime before election day too.

  18. I have had long and passionate discussions and debates with Jack Conway. I learned something from each and every one of them. Jack is smart and, more than that, he cares about the right things.

Accusing Jack Conway of being a communist shows what we have always known. Langley's followers are, sadly, idiots.

  19. Speaking about the Langley team. His biggest "supporters" the East Greenbush Republican Committee, has still refused to file their last four Financial Disclsure Reports with the NYS Board of Elections.
What is the Langley team trying to hide? Who knows? Don't forget that the Langley team also refused to show up at the recent candidates debate at CHS.
I repeat. What is the Langley team trying to hide?

    1. Where is the Times Union or Department of State on this issue? They normally love to run stories. Why have rules if they aren't enforced????

  20. 1:07 p.m. In answer to your question, the Langley team is hiding everything! Admit nothing, deny everything is their company policy. Langley bets on the vast majority of the residents being oblivious to him and his politics, so he thinks he can afford to blow off candidate debates and turn a blind eye to internal controls that would keep him on the up and up because he's been told by the big shots at the county level that no one knows and no one cares what he's doing. He's been told that concerned citizens are kooks and that there aren't enough of them to do him harm. He really believes that! Well, let's prove him wrong on 11/3. Let's rush to the polls and show them who's really boss...the residents of the town of East Greenbush! Even if you don't vote on principle because you're completely cynical about the real intentions of ALL politicians, please make an exception this Nov 3rd and VOTE for Jack, Tina and Tom on Row I. The I stands for integrity; please believe that. The two sitting councilwomen just need one of them to form a new majority but three is best. Let's go for three on 11/3.

  21. Straight from the NYS Office of the Comptroller... The Town Supervisor is required to prepare: "Monthly Statement to the Town Board - At the end of each month, a detailed statement of all moneys received and disbursed must be made to the town board and a copy must be fi led with the town clerk (Town Law,
Section 125(2)). Other reports could also be submitted monthly, such as comparisons of budget estimates with actual transactions, an analysis of investment activity, or a capital project status report.
So Mr. Terriblevisor, may we foil these REQUIRED reports????????

    ReplyDelete
  22. Required? Nonsense!
It should read "Monthly Statement to the Town Board - At the end of each month OR WHENEVER YOU FEEL LIKE IT, IF EVER, a statement AS DETAILED AS YOU LIKE of all moneys received and disbursed COULD be made to the town board IF YOU DON'T MIND, MR. SUPERVISOR, and a copy SHOULD be filed with the town clerk (Town Law,
Section 125(2)) IF YOU THINK OF IT. Other reports could also be submitted monthly IF YOU HAVE THE TIME, such as comparisons of budget estimates with actual transactions, an analysis of investment activity, or a capital project status report. NOTE: NO PRESSURE. IT'S NOT LIKE WE'LL DO ANYTHING TO YOU IF YOU DON'T COMPLY.
The OSC is a toothless lion. They roar like a lion but they purr like a kitten when you don't comply. Bottom line.. they're a joke!

    1. Mr. DiNapoli??? As New York State Comptroller, what say you? Will you look into this complete lack of compliance with Town Law???? Town Board members have regularly asked for these reports to no avail.

Please join us in voting for Tina, Tom and Jack on Election Day.

  25. EGMATTERSS blog says EG1st will "raise your taxes through the roof. The I line will take everything you have." Folks, wait until you see what your sewer and water bill is in January after Langley uses the same old defective formula to figure out how to pay off the $700,000 a year sewer treatment plant upgrades. Yeah, no tax increase from Langley but your bills and fees will still go up, waaay up. Don't be fooled by the no tax increase gimmick to get your vote. It's trick (Langley/DVW) or treat (EG1st) time, folks. Take the TREAT, vote for Jack, Tina, and Tom.
VOTE FOR ALL 3 ON 11/3!

    1. EGMatters comments are all from the same exact person...the blog itself is pathetic, but what's even more pathetic is they make up random ID's to pretend multiple people are commenting. Langley's "silent majority" can be counted on one hand.

  26. We, the residents of EG, need to help the candidates down the homestretch of this election season. I badly want them to win so I'm going to do the following:

-Write them another check. Campaigns are expensive and the Republicans are throwing money at theirs.

-Reach out to 5 or 6 of my neighbors who don't understand the importance of this election.

-Volunteer to canvass our neighborhoods and door hang literature. I know that they're looking for people to help this Saturday and the following Saturday. I think that there are still a lot of people who don't have a clue about the financial situation in EG.

  27. My check went out this morning 9:35. I agree that now is most important. The finish line is in sight. EG1st PO box 91 East Greenbush 12061. Jump on the band wagon. Talk to your neighbors, check their website. It's new and exciting! Jack, Tina, and Tom are not in it for themselves. They are in it for all of us and our Town.
